“Dental implants have made me feel like I’ve got my life back again.”
Keith Morgan's story
After having all his top teeth out when he was 14, and having suffered dentures for 45 years, Keith decided to have a consultation to see if he was a suitable candidate for dental implants.
Multiple implants“I had my upper teeth out when I was 14. In those days, the dentist seemed to take teeth out rather than repair them. I’ve got a very hard bite and I kept snapping ordinary dentures. They’d last about a year or two and then they’d snap in half. So, I had dentures attached to a chrome cobalt metal plate which I had to wear in the roof of my mouth. It stopped them snapping, but after a while all I could taste was metal. That’s what really made me want to change."
"After having false teeth for so long my jawbone had shrunk to nothing. It was quite a procedure Dr Nigel Jones had to carry out to make sure there was enough bone for me to have implants. I had scans to see if it would be possible to have them or not. It was a very, very professional service. Once treatment had been given the go ahead he had to peel all my gums back and introduce the bone sawdust that came out of the holes and pack the jawbone up to take the implants, so it was quite a job and he did it very, very, well. I am very, very, pleased with the results."
"When I had false teeth, I couldn’t eat my favourite foods such as steak. It all had to be minced and I couldn’t eat it normally. I can eat anything now and feel safe. You’ve probably never had any false teeth, but they’re floating about in your mouth, especially after having them for so long, you cannot get a firm grip on them. You can’t eat nuts or strawberry jam because the seeds go under them and when you’re ill after the beer you lose them then! The implants they just feel as though they are part of your mouth. It isn’t something that’s just stuck in your mouth it really does feel part of you. I’d recommend Dr Nigel Jones and his team to anyone because of the professional service they gave me and the aftercare. I have his private mobile phone. I’ve never needed it, but it’s reassuring. It’s fantastic."
