“Dental implants have made me feel like I’ve got my life back again.”
Robert Westall's story
Robert Westall had an accident when he was a student which affected one of his front teeth and knocked his confidence. It also affected his pronunciation. Having a dental implant has increased his confidence and improved his ability to speak and sing more clearly.
Single implant“I’ve had quite an historical issue with the tooth next to my front tooth. It followed an accident 18 years ago at university. I hit a lamp post head on whilst running for a bus. It pushed the tooth back behind the front tooth and it went black a few weeks later and I had a crown fitted. About 18 months ago, I noticed a lump on my gums above the tooth and was obviously quite concerned. I called Nigel who told me to come down to the practice straight away.”
“Following a CT Scan, Nigel told me the crown had been compromised and it was unsustainable and that I needed a dental implant. I’m quite a nervous patient, so the thought of needles or anything like that really scares me and freaks me out. But Nigel explained everything that was going to happen ahead of time, he put me at ease, the duty of care was second to none.”
“I had nothing to worry about in retrospect because the treatment was totally pain free. You get given a pack afterwards with instructions for aftercare. You get appointments for check-ups as well, they really do look after you. There was nothing to worry about it was such a smooth process. It was easier than having a filling.”
“I used to think that if you had a dental implant that you’d be walking around with a gap in your smile for a couple of weeks while it heals up, but that’s not the case. You get given a temporary crown which is fitted onto the implant which you wear for each for phase of the healing process. I felt very cared for and looked after for each stage of the process and I was back in work the next day.”
“As a young person to face dental work every couple of months was not ideal. Now I know that’s not the case. It affected my confidence, I avoided hard foods and was careful eating in public and covered my smile sometimes if I felt the crown was feeling quite wobbly…It’s really transformed my confidence. As a singer and former broadcast journalist I used to worry about my pronunciation, I used to lisp certain words if the crown was wobbly. Now I speak clearly, with clear diction and sing more confidently and it’s just transformed my confidence and my entire outlook and I feel far happier.”
“I can’t thank Nigel enough, his generosity, care and expertise is phenomenal. I’d recommend Nigel Jones to anybody. He is an extremely generous man with his time, expertise and care.
