No bleeding or swelling

“When I actually had dental implants, I thought I was going to look like a football for a week afterwards. I was put out, had an injection and I went to sleep and when I woke up I had no pain, I had no swelling and I didn’t even have any bleeding. I just couldn’t believe how fantastic it was.”

A pain-free procedure

“Nigel explained everything about what was going to happen to me in detail. He said there may be some slight discomfort, but I really didn’t experience that much. I was there for a few hours, had a local anaesthetic and didn’t even know what was going on. I woke up had a chat with Nigel, he gave me some antibiotics and some painkillers, but I didn’t even need the painkillers, it was as simple as that."

No need to be anxious

“I’ve never enjoyed going to the dentist, I don’t suppose many of us do. But I must admit that on treatment day, although I was apprehensive, I knew it had to be done because I had to solve the problem that I had. I went up to the surgery and again Nigel made me feel very at ease, particularly when he put me back in the chair and I looked up at the television in the ceiling. I can remember sitting back and thinking: ‘Only Fools and Horses I’ll enjoy this now’. He took my blood pressure and checked one or two other details and the next thing I felt him touching my arm and I heard him say he was going to sedate me slightly. I was panicking about the removal of the stumps and I told him I was petrified about it. He had a wry grin on his face and he told me they were already out and that the implants were now in place. What a wonderful statement that was he made! My anxiety was over the job was done and I didn’t even know anything about it."
